“Sexy” — Mean Girls: The Musical (Dec 2025)
Role: Lighting Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
For this song, I designed a bold, high-energy look inspired by the chaos and confidence of an ideal Halloween party. The lighting uses saturated color, fast movement, and strong pops of pink to emphasize humor, fantasy, and character. The overall cueing creates an over-the-top party atmosphere that matches the performer’s imagination and the song’s heightened tone.
“Bella Finale” — Pitch Perfect (Sept 2025)
Role: Lighting Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
This design focused on capturing the nostalgic, celebratory energy of the Bellas’ final performance. I built the look around vibrant purples and blues, with gold accents and spot highlights to support musical transitions and solo moments. The cues aim to reflect unity, excitement, and the emotional build of the number while keeping the stage bright, fun, and performance-driven.
Beckwith Hall Concert Lighting (Dec 2025)
Lighting Designers: Sonnie Berkowitz, Nia Webber & Abbagail Welch
For this Beckwith Hall concert, our team created a full lighting sequence: a preshow FOH wash, a dimmed transition look for show start, a performance state with house lights at 25%, and a bright post-show restoration. We also programmed an additional colorful cue for a piano solo. This project focused on cue flow, clarity, and supporting a live concert environment.
Sins & Virtues: Envy + Kindness (Nov 2025)
Role: Lighting Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
Model: Nia Webber
For this paired concept project, I created contrasting looks for Envy and Kindness. Envy uses greens, cool blues, and strong backlight to create a shadowed, tense, withheld atmosphere. Kindness shifts to front-lit golden yellows and soft pinks for warmth and openness. This project emphasized emotional contrast, selective visibility, and hands-on work with the physical light board.
Photometrics (Fall 2025)
Role: Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
This project focused on calculating footcandles, throw distances, and coverage to ensure an even stage wash with no dark zones. Using ground plan and sectional views, I completed the photometric analysis required for building an effective future light plot. The emphasis was on accuracy, documentation, and understanding how theoretical planning translates into practical coverage.
