Abandoned Subway Station — Original Design Package (Nov 2025)
Role: Scenic Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
For this project, I created an original abandoned subway station inspired by The Last of Us and Zombieland. The focus was on world-building through decay, texture, and environment storytelling rather than a specific script. This includes full Vectorworks drafting package, scaled paint elevations, and a Photoshop rendering that explores mood, lighting, and atmosphere.
King Lear — Conceptual Scenic Design (Dec 2025)
Role: Scenic Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
For a reimagined Act I of King Lear, I developed a scenic concept that places the story inside a 1940s New York mafia family. Warm stained woods, aged brick, green velvet, brown leather, and heavy textures shaped the visual language. The process includes mood boards, sketches, a white model, and a ground plan that establish the world’s structure and tone.
Night City Street Rendering — Scenic Sketch Fill (Nov 2025)
Role: Scenic Rendering by Sonnie Berkowitz
Using a line drawing by scenic designer Harlen Penn as the base, I created a full scenic rendering that reimagines the environment as a nighttime urban streetscape. Inspired by Chicago city textures and silhouettes, the final Photoshop paintover explores color, light, and atmosphere while keeping the original drafting intact.

These elements helped unify the overall texture and style of the set.
Drafting From a White Model -(Oct 2025)
Role: Drafting by Sonnie Berkowitz
Working from a physical white model designed by Patrice Davidson, I created a complete set of a scaled Vectorworks drawing. This project focused on translating physical structure into precise digital drafting, emphasizing accuracy and proportion.
The Basement Flat — Scenic White Model (Sept 2025)
Role: Scenic Designer — Sonnie Berkowitz
Inspired by The Basement Flat by Rona Munro, I developed a full scenic model beginning with preliminary sketches and a black model box to establish the architecture and proportions of the space. From there, I created a refined ground plan and a complete white model that explored layout, levels, and the overall environment of the play.
